Persons who surf MSN or Yahoo! groups should be aware that they are at risk. Many groups automatically send you welcome files upon joining. Problem is, some unscrupulous and sick group owners include "illegal" files in this "welcome" message.

 These files can include underage pics (aka kiddie porn), which can get you arrested. Even if you delete these files, they are STILL on your hard drive.  Many an innocent person has been busted simply because they took their computer in for repair, and the technicians found the images and alerted police. 
 

TORONTO - The leader of a Toronto-area Boy Scout troop appeared in court Thursday, charged with possession of child pornography.
Ian Mole, a 20-year-old leader of the Bendale Scout Troop, was in court briefly to hear the charges, before being put into custody.
 According to police, the charges stem from a computer he took to a store for repair was found to contain child pornography.
 Staff at the store notified police, who dispatched the sex crimes unit to search the home of the accused on Wednesday. Story link:

GUELPH - Being charged last year with downloading child pornography from the Internet cost Philip Kelly his $64,000-a-year job and subjected his mother to vigilante harassment. On Wednesday, the 33-year-old Guelph man was also placed under house arrest for three months.
 Police found 38 pornographic images, including photographs of sexual intercourse with young children, on Kelly's computer.
